The lyrics go like this as far as I can make out:
In this farewell,
There is no blood,
There is no alibi,
Cause I’ve drawn regret,
From the truth,
Of a thousands lies,
So let mercy come and wash away…What I’ve Done,
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become,
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done…Put to rest,
What you thought of me
While, I clean this slate,
With the hands,
Of uncertainty,
So let mercy come,
And wash away…What I’ve Done,
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become,
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done…For what I’ve done,
I start again,
And whatever pain may come,
Today this ends,
I’m forgiving what I’ve done…I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become,
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done…(Na,Na,Na) [Mike Shinoda!]
What I’ve Done,
What I’ve Done,
Forgiving what I’ve done…
Lyrics fixed, thanks to Jonathan.

Dude, what is wrong with you?!
Do you even like their old stuff?!
‘What I’ve done’ is an awesome song.
You must be a rap freak, mustn’t you?
This music is still Linkin Park, just without Mike. Which does suck, but Chester is a freaking awesome singer!
Boy band”ish”… you make me dislike you even more.
For one, a “boy band” is like Backstreet boys, Five.
Since when are guys like that smart enough to make the whole song?
All they do is sing.
They don’t play their own instruments and I doubt they write their own lyrics.
Does “In this farewell, There is no blood, There is no alibi†sound like a boy band?
I.
Don’t.
Think.
So.
The music is great.
The vocals are great.
The lyrics are great.
Linkin Park is amazing!
I’m so happy their new song is out,
and the CD is coming out soon aswell.
So I wil; argue with you as long as it takes.
Don’t insult them again.

This song is great. If you listen to it, less the vocals it sounds Like LP. sure it may not be as loud as they used to be, and chester has changed his tone for sure, but if he had been screaming for the chorus then all the bandwagon jumpers would love it still because it sounds like the same old LP who produced all the singles that they love. This is the same band that mashed it up with Jay-Z, and the same band that helped produce Fort Minor, and they just have more creative freedom over their content and frankly its fuckin awesome!
Nuff said, this is a chart topping single right here.

This song.. “What I’ve Done,” is different from the others. It has a new tone, as if positive to the new start, and I think it’s WAY better than just stating it out loud. The lyrics are amazing, no doubt about it, and I think that if the “fans” wanted to hear Chester screaming, then they should go listen to another one of their songs. This song wouldn’t sound right with screaming, but it’s not soft either.
This song was something you’d have to listen to over and over again to fully get the meaning.
So if you just listened to it once or twice, thinking that Linkin Park’s lyrics were something made- up and foolish, then why do you even like them?
Seriously, their lyrics are DEEPER than most people think, but alot of the time, people just listen to them, and call them their favorite band, because the music sounds good enough.
Psh. Mike’s and Chester’s lyrics make a dent in some people’s minds. What they have done, and what has happened to them allows music such as that, and if you can’t respect the purpose of “What I’ve Done,” then you have no clue what lies behind music itself.
Yeah, well, sounds a bit too serious, but i’m just telling people the truth.
WhateverComes.

I don’t understand why peoplle are knocking on linkin park because of this song…. They knocked on them on the 2nd album for it being too smooth and not as rough as the first one or the songs are the same….
If they continued down the road of the same formula people would just abandon them and it would be all the fault of people like shawn LP and then he would be saying what ever happen to them? Its like they said that they were going with a different approach… they said that you know its them and be amazed that it will be different.
You know the first 2 albums I’ll give it to them if they choose to establish themselves and evolve a little bit….. With this they have shown tremendous growth both lyrically and musically which is awesome.
They have said that they make music for themselves. Watching them grow musically was awesome with this coming from them…. My wife doesn’t like thier music because it was too hard but with this I think it connect with her and now she is looking at them with a different perspective which is lyrically…… She now is looking at all of their songs and listening to my cds of them
I think they are going to win some new fans who wouldn’t have given them a listen to back then

shawn LP, You are a fucking retard! ‘What I’ve Done’ is an absolutely amazing single!!! Although it’s disapointing that there’s no Mike Chester has such an amazing voice it more than makes up for it.
If anybody reads kerrang however it would be acceptable to be disapointed in their outlook. They clearly state that they have not wrote this album for themselves but wrote an album that will sell. A rather comercialised outlook. However if you look at the first single from this album it is amazing and you have to say fair play to them, because the song doesn’t suck and this is their career, and so they need to make money from it… what is the point of making music that doesn’t sell???
Also, they never liked being refered to as nu-metal, dispite the fact that that’s basicaly what they were. So they changed to make themselves happier with what they were producing aswell as evolving with music, for example, If you take their first ever single, whilst still being equally brilliant now as to what it was then, it would not do nearly aswell, because it’s not what people want anymore. True LP fans will apprechiate this.
In conclusion, although in a prequel you tend to look for more of hwta you got before, LP have evolved what they had before, bringing themselves to new levels of brilliance.
