As he bends time and space continuum most probably isn't affected by its changes whereas Peter is as his abilities of changing time are not permanent but he has to retrieve them from his memory so he was affected by the change. The only thing I don't get is the how Peter can have a scar, as his regenerative powers should have healed him if he uses it at anytime.
