My longest ignorance till date
The existence of Svalbard.
I’d heard its name in several fictional works and read a lot about it in all the novels I have, but I never once thought that it was real and alive with 2.5k people on it!
Well, when I used to see the world map in my sub-10th grades, I always used to dismiss that small piece of ice as something which is just, ice. Like at the edges of Greenland. Heck, I only realized it was named last week, when I received my free huge World map.
So the Vikings were really there, in that very ‘Archipelago’!
