Gmail gets more colorful

Yep, cause they’ve just added coloring to their labels. Now you can set a different color for each of your label and they would appear as below:

Setting the colors:

Label Colors

Which in the Inbox, would reflect as:

In Inbox

Pretty neat feature! And it comes just days after the integration of Group Chat and emoticons  into the same good old Gmail. (They were previously exclusive to the Widget GTalk alone).

  3. Would be much more interesting/useful to label contacts, not only messages. Labelling all work-related, school-related, family-related contacts would mark all work related mail with one label & color. Contact groups are not that useful, you can’t use them in filters. What do you think?

  5. Andrisi - Nice thought there! Would that be possible via Greasemonkey for now? :)

  6. Yup, checked it out already. It is indeed a pleasing feature. I like it. :)
Earlier I had reverted back to the older version of GMail, but now the new version is back again in my browser. :D

  7. The new version sure is more responsive. Though it does take slightly more time in opening it up completely. Without the Chat unit it works just like before too, so no real issues for me. :)
