Who am I?

I was labeled Harsh J Chouraria on 22nd January 1989 and am using the same name currently. I know my last name is weird, because I don’t know its meaning too. But I guess Indian names are all that way, mostly. For the first name, Harsh, it means Joy or Happiness in Hindi and its roots.

Online am also known as Qwerty or QwertyManiac, for my love of the same type of Keyboards and typing speed improvements.

How do you recognize me?

I don’t see why you have to, but there are places online my photo’s available on but I’ll leave that to your skills to find out where all. Yahoo or Google would be a good place to start with. Apart from the photo, you could look for someone who walks like this.

Walking Style? ME STYLE!

Windows MY = GNU/Linux

Why am I here?

If you mean here as this journal you’re viewing, I have an explanation. If you mean here as this life am living, I got no answers, yet. So about this journal, ever since 2002 I’ve been quite interested in computers and its applications around me and thus I blog and I exist, here.

I’ve blogged about technology and random things apart from it at two other places before.

Why does technology interest me?

I understand it. I love how things work. Sorry, I love how things are made to work the way they should. I guess we all have our favorite topics that we understand as smooth as the flow of water on steel and mine’s technology. Overall, I love the Computer part of technology the most.

What is my computer configuration?

It’s a 3 year old machine based on an Intel Pentium 4 ‘Prescott3.06 GHz HT Processor installed on an Intel Original 865GBF Motherboard with 1 GB of RAM. The graphics are powered by an nVidia 7600-GT AGP 8x with 256 MB of RAM. Storage is a Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 80 GB drive. Rest stuff is basic, like a Samsung 793DF 17″ Display and so on. Oh, also a BenQ 1650 DVD-RW.

Why do I speak so technical?

Jargon does that to you, and Science too. People like these help you become too. :P

What am I planning for the future?

I don’t know for sure yet about what field of computers I’d want to work and develop in but as of now am pursuing my Bachelors in Technology in Information Technology (Oh, that’s a B.Tech IT to you) at the R.M.D Engineering College.

What are my other interests?

Apart from the jargon am interested in, I also like to watch lots of movies and listen to music. I have a good collection of stamps I used to collect around my 8th grade and am still up for trade if you have some rare countries. I like going out but I become too lazy before I plan it out.

How did I get so technical or geeky?

Long story…

Once upon a time, there was a guy without glasses sitting at his computer playing a Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries game, and then he exit it after losing the last level and accidentally right clicked the programs menu of his Windows 98. The long context menu that appeared baffled this newbie and thus began his quest of quenching the curiosity that has spanned 6 centuries years since. Of course, there have been those 98′esqe-blue-screens moments too.

Lame, I know but that’s how I got curious anyway.

Oh before I go, where do I live?

I live in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in India. Am not a native of this place though. I was born in Calcutta, West Bengal and native’s in Rajasthan.

How do you contact me?
