Adsense displays Checkout enabled icons

Google Adsense seems to have started displaying a small icon next to ads from websites which support Google Checkout services.

Checkout

IMHO, Adsense ads are getting too cramped up with the link + description + title and now this too. Instead, they can try putting the description as a tool-tip box on hover and make space for more variety in a box instead.

Firefox finally gets the Windows Media Player plugin

Port 25 of Technet finally gave it out. Its 302 KB and will help you play those odd bad-sites that use Windows Media content. Its only for Windows though.

Download WMP Plugin for Firefox

(Alternatively, Firefox will now automatically install it in case you ever encounter this necessity to play on any page.)

Installation Instructions

1. Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
2. Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
3. Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.

More (Issues, etc) @ Port 25.

Well, boring days these are… My model exams start April 3rd and then its my University Practical exams and finally, the year end with the University Examinations (From May 9th to May 23rd).

Anyways, all I’ve been doing this long is play Halo: Combat Evolved and get my Master Chief owned by Karthik over the LAN (Heh, all I do properly is snipe and hide, and all he does well is bomb me). The campaign part of Halo is really good. They way they fused weapons and vehicles into the game is really cool, and rest games like UT 2004 etc followed it. I personally like the Warthogs, they ride bumpy and funny. Ghosts suck and always turn upside down or lead to your death. I wish we could fly the carrier (Echo 419).

Anyways, Halo 2 comes for PC in Spring this year… (For Windows Vista only, which sucks) Halo 2 has double wielding of weapons, which I think is sort of stupid if you hold a rocket launcher in one hand and a sniper rifle in another and have to shoot using them at once. Anyways, lets see how it actually works out for PCs.

LOL

Personally, I don’t think Halo 2 would be a great asset in boosting Vista sales, cause only those who want it will get it. And by the looks of it being bundled with PCs, it isn’t really going well.

I saw Basic Instinct 1 and 2 this week, average movies. I’d give 3.5/5 to the first and 3/5 to the sequel. 300 is coming to Chennai theaters on 6th April, and I can get to see it only a week later thanks to my model exams. The power cuts are getting more frequent for reasons unknown to the good humanity around. I hope that doesn’t affect the exams of mine…

And… I got a hair cut after 2 months, trying to see how long can my hair grow but it definitely didnt get as long as this guy’s. Oh wait, it didn’t even grow below my neck either. And I hate long hair now, so got it cut to a normal summer style. As far as I know, no style I’ve tried yet has suit my head. Am just a weird aquarian from mars or wherever.

Am not getting enough ideas for the next About page, so it’ll take some more time for it to come up :P

P.s. While writing this post, my Firefox Browser got a little ‘owned’ too… Can anyone explain that? I just used it while writing this post to change ‘pwned’ to Owned and it started appearing everywhere.

Random WordPress Themes

Below I’ve reviewed a few themes I found while browsing the Codex and other theme sites.

Vistered Little

Vistered Little : You must have seen this theme in action at quite a few places. Looks real good but for a narrow reading area and slow loading of the post backgrounds and borders which hampers quick readablity.

Another bug in Firefox

Do this…

Open Firefox.

  1. Open a page like say, Three-By-Five. Or even here lol…
  2. Enable your Bookmarks Toolbar by right-clicking on the top menu toolbar and selecting ‘Bookmarks Toolbar‘.
  3. Remove all the buttons in it by right-clicking each and selecting ‘Delete‘.
  4. When you remove the last button there is, you’ll see the page bouncing up and down or more like a sinusoidal earthquake beat. :P
  5. Get rid of the Bookmarks Toolbar to stop this effect.

I tried this only on Firefox 2.0.0.1, don’t know if it works on other versions as well…

Any ideas why a blank Toolbar would make pages behave like this?
