Holidays again

Exams finished on 23rd May (Sorry for being late to update here). And its holidays till July 6th (Probably) for me.

I have no idea what am gonna do in these holidays. I had ideas of a case-mod but I don’t know how, when or where to start. I’ll probably end up learning to play a guitar instead.

I’ve completed the Spider-Man 3 VG but haven’t seen the movie yet, which I would on 29th .. Pirates of the Caribbean 3 launches 1st of June here, a week later than most other places and am planning to catch it by the first day or second if I get lucky in advance bookings. Shrek 3 is on its way here too but am not so very interested in watching Shrek 3 in the theater.

Karthik, who recently got his own domain ‘Karthiksn.com‘ is now being hosted by me (My first venture at it).

I got to extend my domain’s life by another 3 years ( Use it or not :P ) and got to buy 1-2 additional domains for the plans I got in my mind now .. In hardware, am looking out for a good 19″ or 20″ LCD, and would get one soon, in a month mostly. I’ll also buy a new set of speakers to replace my old 1998 ones :P

Anyone got ideas where and how much wireless headphones are available and cost? (In Chennai)

I saw this page a few months ago and I sure think its a very very innovative idea. Just look at it!

Book Cave

I found this good game called Grid Wars. Its just another 360° Space Shooter but its weird grid type graphics are lovely and much more fun than any other Space Shooter I’ve seen.

Grid Wars

Heroes (TV Series) has just one more episode left for its first season to complete, and most of us still don’t have a clue on what’s gonna happen. Funny thing is, you like both the villain ‘Sylar‘ and the main hero ‘Peter‘ and you would wish neither dies in their confrontation which is gonna happen (as the trailers speak) in the final episode – 23. Then a season 2 takes off and I got to wait for it. (again!)

Lost is gonna end as well, not the series, just the season .. (*groan*) But its turning interesting now, cause we finally see the survivors trying to get off the island, instead of playing golf.

I can’t wait for my exams to finish and then start thinking about the case mod that’s on my mind these days. Also I’ll soon be getting a new shiny monitor to play Halo 2 (For Vista) on it :D

P.s. Here’s some stuff for the comic pervert in you.

Reasons to like Spider-Man 3: The Game

Here’s my likes (and dislikes, after the jump)

  1. Swing fast, real real fast across the free roam city.
  2. Its all reality, you cant swing when there’s nothing to grapple your line onto.
  3. Jump swing like he does in movies by pulling his leg up and leaping mid swing.
  4. Use the building to swing faster by running along it in case you touch it.
  5. Not just climb and crawl walls, leap large distances climbing it, thus faster and less irritating now than previous games.
  6. Run on walls. You got to try this! You are swinging across the skyline and suddenly you go bang flat into a building. What better way than to press the required keys and set Spidey start running real fast on the walls all the way above and then continue swinging.
  7. Slingshot across the city to leap very very large leaps. If you don’t know what the slingshot is, remember the thing Spider-Man does in the first movie to get to the bridge with Green Goblin from the city? Like a catapult? Yeah you can do that from select spots in the city!
  8. Double web swing. Left arm’s web line attached to the left building, and the right one to the right, now swing. Awesome stability but very slow. Its like you might have seen Spider-Man do in the beginning of every episode of “Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends”.
  9. Web zipping, the best and fastest way to cross multiple buildings from above them.
  10. Web Yoyo. The thing you see Spider-Man do most of the times, hang upside down on a webbing, lower down creepily, kiss Mary Jane and go back again. Yeah it is lovely to spy on missions with this one.
  11. A Commandos 3 like Spider-Sense. Makes the screen TV-Static-Black and the enemies red and the usable items or doorways orange when activated. Easy now to find all enemies or to find what to do to stop them.
  12. Dodging attacks using Spider-Sense just got easier, cause holding its button makes time slow (Marvel Ultimate Alliance?) and gives you time and button press opportunities to dodge almost any attack.
  13. Web pull all enemies mid air and defy gravity to grant them their knock-out.
  14. New real Spidey style combo moves. He can shoot web bullets, he can multi-web-up several people at a time, lift them all in one go and give a nasty kick! And that’s not all, there’s more and tons more of upgrades you get along the game, like for example, a web sling kick! How cool is that? You need to play to find out.
  15. ROFL Copter kicks! Punch Fury! Cyclic mid-air kicks! All fun for those rare button-mashing moments.

Random again, since I got no better job these days.

Act of War by Activision is a great game in the RTS genre.

Spider-man 3 Game screenshots and videos look awesome but you still don’t get to control his good moves, its all key press sequence type even now. And that is painful… Plus, look at the system requirements…

CPU: Pentium 4/Athlon XP or better
CPU Speed: 2.8 GHz
System: RAM 1 GB for Windows 2000/XP or 1.5 GB for Windows Vista
Operating System: English version of Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000/XP/Vista
Video Card: 100% DirectX(R) 9.0c-compliant AGP/PCIe 256 MB onboard memory hardware T&L-capable video card with Shader Model 3.0 support and the latest drivers (NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT+ / ATI Radeon X1300+)
Free Disk Space 6 GB of uncompressed hard disk space (plus 600 MB for the Windows swap file)

I wonder how lovely it will be to play this on Wii…

Yeah, all this I wonder when my exams approach, lol. Won’t be posting too regularly till they get over :(
