TV Update: Heroes and Lost

Heroes’ season 3 is generating quite some hype, and there’s no better site than Heroes Revealed to follow the updates, trailers, promos and of course, spoilers.

Heroes - Season 3 - Villains

Heroes - Season 3 - Villains

Hope what they promised us, that the villains shown in there would be far worse than even Sylar, is really true. Atleast the first episode spoiler pointed a little bit in that direction, but not many new characters were revealed in it.

And the promo poster looks awesome, to add pretty redundantly.

Previously Meanwile, on Lost, Locke’s death has smashed all the left-over interest I had left by the third season. The moving of the island was a nice thing to see though, and so was Benjamin’s departure. Lost has some good music in it at times. I wouldn’t be watching this show anymore though, am done with the madness it keeps on adding in. Yes I’ve been saying this every season from the second but this time I just won’t! :D

The other shows I used to watch (Aliens in America, Bionic Woman) have both gone out of production and have not been taken up for another season. That’s just great, both were good shows! :(

Heroes Volume 2 Finale

one comment

Heroes Volume 2 – “Generations” ended this Monday and what have we got? One dead :(

This ending was a really really great one. It was hell better than the Season 1 finale!

Heroes Volume 2 - Generations and Volume 3 - Villains

As most would have predicted, Hiro did get his revenge over Adam Monroe and in a very very cool way! Since Adam is virtually indestructible, which is his boon perhaps, Hiro was very good at making it his bane by burying him up deep down the earth – alive.

I never did even once think it was Nathan who was gonna fall. Must have guessed it when he did a lot of good turning Peter away from his assumptions about Adam Monroe. And the killer was wearing a blue baseball cap. Wonder who that’d be. Mostly just a Primatech company employee. Nonetheless, it was shocking to see Angela being normal that happened. And oh yeah – “You do know that now you’ve opened Pandora’s Box”. Just the suspense I needed! :P

Hiro’s matured a hell lot. Firstly he isn’t careless or scared anymore and he sure won’t end up in 2099 A.D. in the next volume. Peter’s bad-ass acting was a delight to watch, though it also did feel bad seeing him do the wrong things, cause afterall he was/is/will be my favorite character in the Heroes TV series for as long as it runs. Absorbing abilities ftw, and if its Peter at that, ftw times 2.

About the next volume, the Heroes Volume 3 – “Villains“, I think its gonna be slightly repetitive yet again, as most parts of Volume 2 had been. Sylar getting his abilities back (Wonder how he got wounded so badly though?) was a delight to see, and of course, it did made me chuckle when he said “I’m Back”. Terminator indeed!

Would be interesting to see who these “Villains” are. And I’d bet Sylar would go after the company now, than the Heroes, cause they were the ones who injected him, as he now knows. So the word Villains in the Volume 3 title surely doesn’t mean its him. Or I’d like to guess so.

Did I say stuff about Niki? Nope. Cause its good she’s gone. Monica‘s role, in case she decides to continue would be a better thing than that. Don’t know of Micah though, his ability is cool. Hope he stays around.

Oh my, I missed the greatest drama of Heroes – The Bennets! Well, now that I thought of that, I realized that there’s nothing to write about them either. So I’ll just hope Noah “H.R.G” Bennet sticks around to keep his family, and the virtually indestructible Claire, “safe“.

Let the spoilers and guesses of Volume 3 roll!

( P.s. No Heroes probably till next September :( But let the comics roll too! ;) )

Starship Troopers

Looks like no one remembers this awesome science fiction craze of 1990′s anymore?

Most of you would have seen the 1997 movie “Starship Troopers” which was quite a good movie of its time. There also was a sequel to it called “Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation“. I just caught up with these two movies again this month on DVD and it bought back the good old memories. Got to love guns, power suits and interstellar air-crafts just like the Halo series. ;)

Do any of you remember the “Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles” series which used to air on AXN around 2001 or so? It was a series representation of the Starship Troopers film adaptation and was fully CGI, way too good for its time! Just recently learnt that it had over 7 campaigns while only 3 were aired in India. So being how easy it is to acquire DVDs in 2007, I got them all, full 8 DVDs of all the campaigns in order:

  • The Pluto Campaign
  • The Hydora Campaign
  • The Tophet Campaign
  • The Tesca Campaign
  • The Zephyr Campaign
  • The Klendathu Campaign
  • The Trackers Episodes along with the Bonus clips, and finally,
  • The Homefront Campaign

It’s too bad the series ended in a cliff-hanger and the planned sequel was never produced since the company behind this masterpiece ran out of money and disappeared off the globe. :(

But anyways, you can wait for the third movie sequel “Starship Troopers: Marauders” coming up next year with an all new story.

You know what’s a Marauder if you’ve seen the Roughnecks series. ;)

Kids’ WB! has announced a new Spider-Man animated series, starting early 2008. I can has a w00t please? Thank you. w000000t!

Its called The Spectacular Spider-Man: Animated Series. The 6th Animated series of Spider-Man that am gonna watch now :P

The Spectacular Spider-Man

But I do hope the animation’s way better than this image they’ve shown us. I’d love it even more if its animation is like ‘Spider-Man: The New Animated Series‘ which was partially 3D and very modern and cool in its story arc.

And as this image shows, its the same villains as ever, I can recognize The Vulture’s shadow, Dr. Octopus’ tentacles, Sandman’s fist and the smoke of Green Goblin’s glider. What’s the radioactive liquid like thing?

Oh wait, that ain’t smoke, its just metal obstructing the camera shot .. Thanks Karthik for this.

I saw this page a few months ago and I sure think its a very very innovative idea. Just look at it!

Book Cave

I found this good game called Grid Wars. Its just another 360° Space Shooter but its weird grid type graphics are lovely and much more fun than any other Space Shooter I’ve seen.

Grid Wars

Heroes (TV Series) has just one more episode left for its first season to complete, and most of us still don’t have a clue on what’s gonna happen. Funny thing is, you like both the villain ‘Sylar‘ and the main hero ‘Peter‘ and you would wish neither dies in their confrontation which is gonna happen (as the trailers speak) in the final episode – 23. Then a season 2 takes off and I got to wait for it. (again!)

Lost is gonna end as well, not the series, just the season .. (*groan*) But its turning interesting now, cause we finally see the survivors trying to get off the island, instead of playing golf.

I can’t wait for my exams to finish and then start thinking about the case mod that’s on my mind these days. Also I’ll soon be getting a new shiny monitor to play Halo 2 (For Vista) on it :D

P.s. Here’s some stuff for the comic pervert in you.
